John Zambito is a nationally recognized expert on search and has been quoted in the media including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Fast Company, Fox News, Ohio News Network, and Business Week. In 2002, he founded Zambito Executive Search, LLC. (ZES), now Z-Careers, to provide clients with a superior search and talent acquisition service.
Before starting Z-Careers in 2002, Zambito spent 13 years as an award-winning Search Consultant and General Manager with Management Recruiters International (MRI), the world's largest search organization with over 1,000 offices and 5,000 search consultants worldwide. Some of the awards he received at MRI include: "Top 10 Search Consultant," "Top 10 Office," "Elite Office," and "Manager of the Year." In 2005, Zambito was recognized as the “Recruiter of the Year” by The National Banking and Financial Services Network. Mr. Zambito is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Political Science.
Lauren Cox holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University. She spent over 20 years in electrical, controls, and automation engineering for GM and Delphi, and two years as an Application Engineer for Crescent Electrical Supply Company, an electrical automation distributor. As Project Manager, Lauren acts as the hub of communication between hiring authorities and candidates. Her background gives the office a go-to resource for an inside perspective on technical positions. Lauren joined Z-Careers in 2007 and helps the Z-Careers team match candidate’s technical skill sets with the best opportunities available.
Todd Sharon specializes in recruiting professionals with environmental, health and safety, IT, and technical backgrounds. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from The Ohio State University. Todd’s educational background and previous work experience help him understand the detailed requirements of the environmental health and safety positions he fills. Todd began his recruiting career in 2008 after spending time in the engineering and sales industries. As an Account Executive at Z-Careers, he uses his networking skills to quickly and effectively help match clients’ needs with the most qualified applicant.
John McCormick joined Z-Careers in 2013 specializing in recruiting professionals in the Construction industry, specifically in the water/wasterwater sector. John has an extensive agriculture background, holding one of the highest honors within the Future Farms of America organization as an American Degree Holder, an award given to less than half of one percent of all FFA members. With John’s in-depth agriculture background, and previous campus recruiting experience with one of the leading Fortune 500 retail stores in the United States, he has a unique ability to establish lasting relationships with clients and candidates. He holds a B.S. in Communications from Ohio University.
Jose Sanchez joined Z-Careers in 2013 bringing over 10 years of experience as a Diversity Recruiter for a nationally-known retail company. Recognized as a diversity champion at his previous company, he traveled extensively to teach other recruiters and managers effective recruiting practices. In his current role as Diversity & College Recruiting Practice Leader, Jose works closely with our top client to recruit individuals for careers in the Steel industry. He also partners with our client to identify and develop top college prospects that will be the next generation of talented leaders. Jose holds a B.S. in Fitness Biology from Cornell College.
Derek Collins joined Z-Careers in 2014. He brings 10 years of management experience in an Outsourcing capacity and a history of successful partnerships with several of the largest Fortune 500 companies in the United States. Derek’s passion for quality, client service, relationship building and his desire to constantly improve his client’s competitive standing in the marketplace drive him to source and recruit the best possible individuals for the Manufacturing Industry.
Bob Garver joined Z-Careers in 2010 after 50 plus years in manufacturing and steel production. Bob held various engineering management positions including Mgr. Quality Engineering, Chief Metallurgist, Mgr. Technical Services, Plant Metallurgist, and Mgr. Quality Assurance. Special projects included ISO/TS 16949 implementation, space shuttle main engine steel alloy application, strand casting acceptance and bottom poured ingot technology. Bob received a B.S. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University with post graduate studies at Akron University and The University of Wisconsin. He is a life member of ASM and AIST.
Ben Zambito joined Z-Careers in 2011. He specializes in the placement of construction professionals for clients that include some of America’s elite companies (members of the Fortune 500 and ENR’s Top 100 General Contractors list). Driven to provide excellent results for candidates and clients, Ben is passionate about maintaining long-term business relationships built upon unparalleled service and results. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from The Ohio State University.
John Herion joined Z-Careers in 2015 after spending three years working at one of Columbus’s most prestigious private athletic/social clubs, while he earned a B.S. in Mathematics from The Ohio State University. His education required him to solve complex problems, think deductively and to operate at a fast-pace in a team setting. John’s educational background and previous work experience have helped him to grasp the nature of the executive search process. John focuses on integrity, intelligence, and motivation to establish long-term relationships with clients and candidates.
Alicia Long holds a B.S. in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and brings 5 years of recruiting and sales management experience. She has worked directly with several Fortune 500 companies, and identified, developed, and evaluated recruiting strategies based on knowledge of company objectives. As an executive recruiter, Alicia specializes in recruiting professionals with sales, engineering, IT, and technical backgrounds.
